Huxley Digital worked with an exclusive conference held at a high profile UK motorsport festival (Please note, client details are withheld in accordance with a Non Disclosure Agreement).
The client had organised an exclusive conference to be held at a prestigious motorsport festival. The priority was to ensure that guests, delegates, and speakers were kept informed and updated in real time. In order to achieve this, they hired Huxley Digital to create and implement a website and app to be used as a digital programme and black book for the event.
The purpose of the site and app was to brief speakers and delegates on content of the conference ahead of time, as well as to facilitate communication via a bespoke messaging system. In addition to this, they also needed a native iPad app designed to make the programme accessible to attendees.
IDENTIFYING THEIR NEEDS
In order to allow delegates and speakers to co-ordinate, they needed a bespoke messaging and scheduling system which allowed for live communication. As well as facilitating behind-the-scenes organisation, it also had to have a guest-facing interface designed in line with strict brand guidelines.
The guest-facing service was to be installed on 50 iPads, and was to work without the need for internet access. In order to offer the seamless, luxury experience associated with their brand, they also required hardware and software support for the event to ensure full functionality on the day.
Since the app and site content was to be personalised, it was also important to ensure the security of their data, and to make surer that access was restricted to authorised users only.
MEETING THEIR NEEDS
In order to allow organisers to co-ordinate with speakers and delegates, we created an intuitive system allowing content to be easily managed and updated.
The public-facing elements of the app were delivered in accordance with the strict brand guidelines, and captured their focus on luxury, comfort, and individuality. To help achieve this, each guest was invited to the site with a personalised link, with the site then welcoming them by name. We paid particular attention to this aspect of the project, in order to contribute to the high standard of service afforded to the event’s guests.
The iOS native app which was installed onto iPads distributed to guest on arrival used the same visual theming as the website, further adding to the brand’s coherence. The app was created to be a top-end accompaniment to the event’s wider branding, and as such we paid attention to the details, resulting in a seamless tablet experience with swipe functionality and imagery optimised for high resolution screens.
As HuxleyDigital has an iOS app developer license, we were able to develop and install the app on the on-site devices and tailor the content of the devices to focus attention on the app. We ensured that customisation was quick and simple so that each guest’s device could be personalised.
Though we were present and fully prepared to offer comprehensive on-site support at a moment’s notice, this was not required as the app roll-out was completely successful and users reported no issues. The combination of the website and app helped the event organisers to achieve their goals, and ensured that the whole day ran smoothly.
HOW IT HELPED
Both digital products were fully in line with all of the event’s branding, making sure that the organisers met their goal of providing a cohesive, fully individualised experience for their guests.
As well as helping to promote the brand, the site and app gave the organisers an opportunity to further add value for guests, providing a bespoke experience from first contact through to the conclusion of the conference.
Because we put emphasis on ensuring the security of the client’s data, there was no risk of guest information being compromised.
As a result of our efforts, both the organisers and the guests, speakers and delegates of the conference were able to enjoy a responsive, personalised experience which enhanced engagement and provided information as and when it was needed.
